“Ode to Biblioteca” by Stephanie Logan

Ode to Biblioteca written “In Synergy’ with “Ways of Knowing” by Isabel Avila

You are a mystic garden of wisdom

               a cornucopia of knowledge

               an earthly verdant paradise.

You are a sheltered solitary refuge

               for weary souls seeking solace

               through the abundant restorative words

               of poets, saints and sages.

You are a haven for bibliophiles

               a literary sanctuary

               providing page to page resuscitation.

Viva Biblioteca!

Stephanie Logan is a budding Claremont poet who after teaching History and Humanities, found her dream job as an LA County Library Associate where she loves turning on the minds of customers with intellectually stimulating materials. She experimented in Modern Dance and Theatre before she was challenged at a poetry reading to begin writing her own poetry. Stephanie took the challenge and has been published in three haiku journals, Arts and Poetry Magazine and several Spectrum publications. Stephanie sees everyday life as her muse, with her poetry inspired by the mystical side of life, frequently featuring historical women and Goddesses. She recently was inspired to begin a poetry collection about the mystical women within her twisted family story.
