Like others in Altadena, Pasadena, and beyond, we are grieving the fires, the homes burned, and memories lost for so many of our fellow poets and artists, students and teachers, and community members.
We are safe, and we thank all of you for your messages and concerns. As you know, the Altadena Library survived but will remain closed till the end of January. We have postponed our January reading and our next reading will be at 6:30 pm on February 25 Octavia’s Bookshelf – details can be found here. Please visit Altadena Library’s website for resources.
We also want to remind all Los Angeles-based artists and arts workers in all disciplines who have experienced loss, severe damage, or lack of access to one’s home, artmaking studio, or both, to apply for funding via the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI). The deadline to apply is February 18, 2025 by 5 pm PST.
We are enlarging the 2024/25 poetry anthology to include poems written by California poets on the southern California conflagration. Click here for new submission details.
Thanks to all of you and so many supporters, Altadena will remain strong,
